Built Up Felt Roofing

Felt BUR roofing is a generic term used for many types of flat roof coverings.

Traditionally a three-layer roofing system of felt in roll form which is bonded using the roll and pour method using hot bitumen. The top layer often has a mineral or spar finish as protection.

There are now many variations on this using a variety of high-performance synthetic materials, self-adhesive backings to eliminate the need for flame, single layer, fire retardant and hybrid systems. New materials offer a full range of systems giving durability, flexibility and reliability. Manufacturers can provide a full specification for each situation which ISL can install.

Felt is an ideal choice for:

  • Rear extensions
  • Local Authority housing
  • Garage Roofs
  • Apartment Blocks
  • Main House flat roofs
  • Office and commercial buildings
